Just doing a quick catch-up here…

I’ve had this base card of Bryce Harper from this year’s 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen set on my desk for a month now and I have yet to feature it on the blog…

And since I already showed off the mini base card of him, I thought I would quickly sneak this one in so I can shift my focus to the remaining cards of #34 that are in the set.

So, here is the card:



And now, I am ready to set sail and find some of the ‘tougher’ ones for my player collection.

Notes From His 1975 Season:  Oscar Gamble played in 121 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1975.  He hit .261 for the club with 91 hits in 348 at-bats.  Gamble connected for 16 doubles and 15 home runs along with stealing 11 bases for ‘The Tribe’.  He scored 60 runs for the team while driving in 45.

Notes From Career:   Oscar Gamble suited up for 7 different teams during his 17 seasons in the major leagues.  He is a career .265 hitter with 188 doubles and 200 home runs on his resume.  Gamble made it to the postseason during three campaigns, and the World Series twice – but he lost in both appearances.

Notes From His 1975 Season:  Don Sutton started 35 games for the Dodgers in 1975.  He compiled a record of 16-13 with complete games and 4 shutouts.  Sutton threw 254 innings in 1975, allowing 202 hits with 87 runs scored.  He also struck out 175 batters while walking just 62.  Sutton was selected as an All-Star in ’75.

Notes From Career:   Hall of Famer, Don Sutton won 324 games during his 23-season major league career.  He was a 4-time All-Star pitcher and finished in the Top 5 for the Cy Young Award during five different seasons.  Sutton has a career ERA of 3.26 and he has 178 complete games and 58 shutouts to his credit.  He is also member of the ‘3,000 Strikeouts Club’ as he has posted 3,574 K’s – 7th on the All-time list.
