Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen – Mini Alternate Image Parallel
Time to show off another addition to my Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen collection.
This card is a mini – but not an ordinary one.
This is the alternate image card – complete with a unique and different image from the base card.
Have a look:
I love it. The card shows off Stanton’s mighty swing very nicely, and I really like the combination of the Orange Marlins jersey with the Black cap.
A great addition to my Stanton GQ collection. And now, it is time to seek out some of those colored border parallels.
I’m on it!

1980 HEADLINE: Andre Dawson Steals 100th Base Of His Career
On this day in 1980, Andre Dawson stole the 100th base of his big league career.
On the road and facing the Philadelphia Phillies at Veteran Stadium, Andre Dawson and his Expos team were seeking a win against the National League powerhouse.
Dawson was 1-for-5 on the day with a home run and a stolen base. In the top of the 6th inning and with Gary Carter at the plate, Andre Dawson stole the 100th base of his major league career – second base off of Phillies pitcher Lerrin LaGrow.
Dawson was solid on the day, and helped lead the Expos to a 7-6 win.
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary Mr. Dawson!!!

1979 HEADLINE – Rickey Henderson Debuts For The A’s
It all started on this day 35 years ago…
Rickey Henderson’s debut with the Oakland A’s on June 24, 1979 is when it all began. In the game, Henderson’s A’s team took on the Texas Rangers in Oakland, CA. The A’s lost the game 5-1, but Rickey gave us a glimpse of what was to come..
In the game Henderson batted lead-off and went 2-for-4 with a single and a double. He also picked up the first stolen base of his career, which as we all know was just the start of his amazing run as the game’s greatest lead-off hitter!!
Happy Anniversary Rickey!!!

SIGNING RESULTS: 2 New Balls For My Fergie Jenkins Collection!!
Friends, I missed out on an opportunity to take part in a Fergie Jenkins signings earlier in the year, so when another chance came up, I jumped right in.
With both feet!
Two balls this time around. And each one is a unique and special addition to my collection that honors my favorite pitcher of all-time.
The first ball that I got signed is very similar to another recent addition to my collection that was signed by Andre Dawson.
Have a look:
Yep, another sweet Rawlings Fenway Park 100th Anniversary commemorative ball. And Fergie added his jersey number from his Red Sox days to the signature too – #31.
And now, another great one. Check out the inscription on this one…
Yessir, it reads ‘FLY’. As is Fergie Jenkins is ‘FLY’ – and I love it.
When I think 1970’s, I think groovy and smooth and fly. And when I think 1970’s baseball style, I think Fergie Jenkins (and others).
2 great additions to my collection. 2 very unique pieces.
Tonight, I am a very happy collector!
