Jose Fernandez 2014 Topps Series 2 – 2013 NL ROY – Gold Border Parallel
Yessir, I am still bringing cards of Jose Fernandez from Topps’ Series 2 release into my collection.
This time around I was able to grab the NL ROY card, and it is the Gold-border parallel. As you know, the Gold cards are serial numbered to 2014 copies.
Mine is #613/2014.
Have a look:
I have to say that patience is paying of when it comes to building this rainbow. I have scooped up most of these cards very inexpensively. It’s all about timing and being willing to wait.
If Fernandez had 16 wins at this point of the season, it would be another story entirely…

Andrew McCutchen 2013 Panini Triple Play – Base
I purposely have not gone after a lot of cards from the 2013 Panini Triple Play set because I find them to be heavy on the childish side.
But, during a recent shopping spree for cards of Andrew McCutchen on Sportlots.com, the seller I was buying from had two cards of ‘Cutch’ so I grabbed them.
Prior to this, I have only picked up cards of Giancarlo Stanton from the set.
So, the cards of McCutchen were bought ‘on the blind’. And while still childish, I am happy with the purchase.
Here is the card:
Kind of neat.
I’m going to show it to my boys and see what they think. At 6 and 8, they may be better judges when it comes to the ‘Wow Factor’.

Joe Morgan 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter – Mini A&G Back
With most of the base cards out of the way from the 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter set, I have shifted my attention to the minis and mini parallels from the set to so I can bulk up my modern and vintage player collections.
In a hunt that was specific to just the mini cards from this set, I hauled in a good handful.
Among them was this base mini of Reds Hall of Famer, Joe Morgan.
Have a look:
I’m happy to have nailed this one down as I had been lacking in my pursuit of Mr. Morgan’s cards.
Now on to the tougher ones… Bring on the parallels!

1975 Topps Set Card 244/660 – #443 – Minnesota Twins Team Card
Card Number: 443
Team: Minnesota Twins
Manager: Frank Quilici
Notes From The 1975 Season: The 1975 Minnesota Twins completed the season with a 76-83 record, finishing in 4th place in the AL West. The team scored 724 runs over the course of the season, and allowed 736. Offensively, the team was led by Rod Carew who led the team in hits, batting, RBI, runs scored, and stolen bases. From the pitching side, the team had three pitchers capture between 14-16 win a piece for the club.
Andre Dawson 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter – Base
Yes, I find this year’s release of Allen & Ginter to be a complete snooze-fest.
But, I am thankful for the fact that my favorite Hall of Famer, Mr. Andre Dawson, has a spot on the A&G checklist.
If I play my cards right, I should be able to add 6-7 new cards of ‘Hawk’ to my collection from this release, and hopefully for not too much money as well.
This is his base card from the set. It put me back a whole eighteen cents.
And now, I am ready to dig a bit deeper and try to rescue the mini and related parallels. And if I am really luck, the relic card too.
Wish me luck!
