1976 HEADLINE: Andre Dawson Collects 1st Stolen Base Of Major League Career

On this day in 1976, the Montreal Expos hosted the St. Louis Cardinals for a double header.

In game two of the double header, Andre Dawson stole the first base of his major league career.  The steal came in the bottom of the second inning after Andre hit a single to lead-off the inning.  The steal came against the combination of Eddie Solomon and John Tamargo.  Dawson would later score for the Expos on a single by Barry Foote.

On the day, Dawson was 2-for-4 for with 2 singles, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, and a stolen base.  The Expos lost the game 7-4.
