Here Is My Giancarlo Stanton ‘2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Rainbow’

Here Is My Giancarlo Stanton ‘2014 Topps Gypsy Queen Rainbow’

Friends, I have done it again.

Another rainbow has been completed.

And this one features my favorite current MLB player – Giancarlo Stanton.  And it is from my favorite modern Topps product – Gypsy Queen.

The rainbow features 3 full-size base cards and 5-mini cards, including one with an image variation.

Are you ready to check it out?

You sure?

Ok, here goes.  Have a look:

Yeah baby!  After securing my last mini just last week, I have finally completed the full 8-card rainbow.  I’ve finished other Gypsy Queen rainbows in the past, but none this large – the 8-card version of Stanton is a first for me!

Just in time for 2015 Topps Update to come where Stanton should have at least 2 more rainbows to chase..

Let’s Go!

Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen – Sepia Mini

Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen – Sepia Mini

I may still be sitting and waiting for that Fergie Jenkins Sepia mini to drop from the sky and land as an auction on Ebay, but that does not mean that I don’t have my eyes peeled for other cards from the 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen set.

And as a matter of fact, I did land my first Sepia-toned mini.  And it is of none of than, #27 – Giancarlo Stanton.

Each Sepia card from the GQ release is serial numbered to just 50 copies.  My card of Giancarlo is stamped as #40/50.

Have a look:

I like it.  But, I will say that the card looks a bit darker that prior Sepia-tone cards  that I have added into my collection.  Maybe it is due to the dark jersey and helmet that Giancarlo is sporting in this picture?

Still, I am very happy to have finally picked up this card.

Now, I just need to find that elusive Fergie Jenkins…

Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen – Red Mini

Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Gypsy Queen – Red Mini

FINALLY!!!  I have finally landed the Red Mini card of Giancarlo Stanton from this year’s Gypsy Queen baseball card set.

It took me months to obtain, and quite a bit of patience as I saw a few go by for more than what I wanted to spend.  But, I was finally able to land the card at a good price.

The Red mini cards from the 2014 GQ set are stamped and limited to just 99 copies.  The one that I nabbed is stamped as 2/99.

Here is the card:

I’m very happy to have finally brought this bad-boy home.  It has been a long time coming and now I can shift my attention to some other Stanton parallels…

Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter – Base

Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter – Base

I believe that this is the final base card from the 2014 Topps Allen & Ginter set that I have to show off.

The card of Giancarlo Stanton takes a slight break from the standard, posed portrait style of card that is typical of the A&G product.  And for that reason alone, I like it!

I miss the big guy, and I am saddened by the way that his 2014 campaign ended and that he was not able to walk off the field with his teammates at the conclusion of game 162.

Here’s to a solid 2015 season for #27.  I’m cheering for him already!

After this, it will all be about the parallels that I have scored.

Giancarlo Stanton 2011 Topps Opening Day

Giancarlo Stanton 2011 Topps Opening Day

Each and every time that I see a card of a modern Marlins player in his original Marlins uniform I crave that old team logo and color scheme.

I grew up on Black & Teal, and while I have grown to love and enjoy the new colors and look of the new Marlins uniform, nothing will replace the originals.

Here is a great shot of those old uni’s – It’s a card of Giancarlo Stanton from the 2011 Topps Opening Day set.

2013 Topps Heritage League Leader Card – 2012 NL HR Leaders w/Giancarlo Stanton

2013 Topps Heritage League Leader Card – 2012 NL HR Leaders w/Giancarlo Stanton

UPDATE: This post was created prior to Stanton’s horrific injury.

My guy, #27, has been on fire as of late.  Setting career highs in RBI and home runs is just proof that when healthy Giancarlo can mash with the most elite players in the sport.

This card is from the 2013 Topps Heritage set.  The card honors the National League Home Run leaders from the 2012 baseball season.

Have a look:

If all goes well, Stanton will be featured on a few more League Leader cards when the 2015 products start hitting the shelves.  As a Stanton collector, I am ready for that – and up to the challenge of collecting them all!

Bring it on!

Baseball Card Show Purchase #4 – Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Chrome X-Fractor

Baseball Card Show Purchase #4 – Giancarlo Stanton 2014 Topps Chrome X-Fractor

While I did not walk away from the card show with the base card of Giancarlo Stanton from the 2014 Topps Chrome set like I had been seeking out, I did get one better.

I saw this card sitting in the showcase of my modern dealer – and I knew I wanted it as soon as I saw it.

It is the X-fractor parallel to the base card from the 2014 Chrome set.

And it looks pretty neat if you ask me.

Have a look:

I like this one a lot!

And now I am on the prowl for the base card from the set as well as the other parallels that are out there.

Wish me luck.

Baseball Card Show Purchase #3 – Miami Marlins 2014 Topps Finest Team Set w/Extra Stanton Card

Baseball Card Show Purchase #3 – Miami Marlins 2014 Topps Finest Team Set w/Extra Stanton Card

Once again, my modern dealer at the show really took care of me.  He ripped up enough of the 2014 Topps Finest product to have the full team set of the Miami Marlins in his $0.25 box.

So, you better believe that I grabbed all three cards that make up the complete Marlins team set.  And paying just $0.75 for the complete set was super nice.

Here is the full set:

He happened to also have an extra single card of Giancarlo Stanton in the mix so  I grabbed it for my Stanton collection making it an even dollar spent on the 2014 Topps Finest product.

Here is a larger scan of the Stanton card:

I like it.  And now I am after the colored versions and inserts of #27.

Giancarlo Stanton 2012 Topps Chrome

Giancarlo Stanton 2012 Topps Chrome

I have yet to dive into the 2014 Topps Chrome product, but I did rescue this 2012 Chrome card of Giancarlo Stanton while shopping on a few weeks ago.

The card is really nice, and very ‘chromed out’.

Have a look:

While back in 2012 Giancarlo was working on his defense, it is this season, in 2014, in which he has become a top-tier right fielder in the National League.  I even think he has an outside shot at a Gold Glove Award…

Time will tell.  And now, it is time for me to see if I can grab a few of his Chrome cards from the 2014 set!

Giancarlo Stanton 2013 Topps Gypsy Queen – Blue Paper Frame

Giancarlo Stanton 2013 Topps Gypsy Queen – Blue Paper Frame

Another sweet Giancarlo Stanton baseball card for the PC.

And this one is S-W-E-E-T!!!

Yep, I keep reeling them in.  This time it is another beauty from the 2013 Topps Gypsy Queen set – the Blue Paper Frame parallel.

Each of the Paper Frame cards from the 2013 issue were stamped t o just 499 copies.  Mine is number 162/499.

Check it out:

Time for me to check out how many more Stanton cards I need from the 2013 GQ release.  It cannot be too many more…

Maybe I will have another completed rainbow to show off soon.
