Card #300 In My 1975 Topps Set Build Is Reason To Celebrate!!!

Card #300 In My 1975 Topps Set Build Is Reason To Celebrate!!!

Sure, it may not be a landmark percentage of the set, but 300 is a very nice, round number and one that I am excited about reaching.

Card #300 was reached yesterday in my build, and not only was it the 300th card that I have picked up for my 1975 Topps set build, but it was also card #300 from the set – literally, it was the Reggie Jackson card!

And yes, I kind of held onto that one for a few weeks just so I could squeeze it in this way and make it a tad more memorable.

Cheers to #300.

300

I am ready for the next milestone to come my way.

Baseball Card Show Purchase #5 – The Single Largest 1975 Topps Lot I Have Bought Yet!!

Baseball Card Show Purchase #5 – The Single Largest 1975 Topps Lot I Have Bought Yet!!

I could easily estimate that I spent 80-90% of my time at the card show with just one seller – my vintage dealer.

I got to the show at 850 in the morning and headed straight for his display.  He knew what I was seeking and after a quick greeting, I pulled out my checklist and began hunting through his two boxes of 1975 Topps cards.

And I hauled away a huge stack of cards – 116 in total.  And the mix is pretty sweet – some commons, some team cards, some MVP cards, and some superstar cards as well.

The price was superb.  The condition is fantastic.  And the set build continues!!!

Another Milestone In My 1975 Topps Set Build – Card #200!!!

Yes, I know that I just bragged and boasted a few days ago about reaching the 30% mark on my set build, but I cannot help that 198 and 200 are so close together.

So, I prefer to pump my arms, puff out my chest, and show it off – 200 CARDS!!!

Yeah baby, and card #200 was a sweet one – the base card of Hall of Famer, Nolan Ryan!!

I am so happy to have made it this far with my pursuit.  And the very large stack of cards I have on my desk along with the saved drafts in my blog’s post ‘bucket’ ensures that the journey will continue at a rampant pace.

I’m on my way to #660.   But for now, let’s celebrate #200.

Baseball Card Show Purchase #1 – Lot Of 58 Card For My 1975 Topps Set Build

Baseball Card Show Purchase #1 – Lot Of 58 Card For My 1975 Topps Set Build

My favorite vintage dealer really hooked me up this time.  When I approached his table, I was greeted with a handshake and a message of “I’m happy you’re here. I picked up another box of 75s and I kept them separate for you”.  You could imagine my excitement…

So, I jumped right in and immediately started pulling cards from the box that were on my list of ‘Needs’.

And by the end of the box, I had 58 new cards for my 1975 Topps set build.  For $20, I knocked out another 10% of the set – in just 30 minutes.

Here is the stack:

And as always, it is mixed with commons, team cards, rookie cards, All-Stars, and stars.

And you’ll have to wait to see them all as I plan to launch each card in the same manner that I have been – one at a time.
