Trade With Reader Ken Brings A Very Cool Manufactured Patch Card To ’30-YOC’

Trade With Reader Ken Brings A Very Cool Manufactured Patch Card To ’30-YOC’

A few weeks ago I posted my results from busting two 2012 Topps Update blasters.

In that post, I showed off a Prince Fielder Blockbuster Patch Card that I pulled in one of those boxes.  Within 24 hours, I had a reader of ’30-YOC’ that was interested in adding that card to his collection.

And what he was offering was right up my alley!!!

We sweetened the deal for each other by my adding all of the Tigers cards I pulled from both boxes in exchange for a few cards for my current player collections.

And now, the trade is complete, and I believe it has left both of us collectors happy.

Here is my haul:

1984 Donruss Mike Schmidt, for the PC:

3-card Eric Davis lot for the PC:

And the centerpiece of the trade, the Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez card from the 2012 Topps Update Blockbuster manufactured patch set:

Thank you Ken!!!  One hell of a trade!!!

A Trade Post On ’30-YOC’??? Yes, A Trade Post On ’30-YOC’!!!!

A Trade Post On ’30-YOC’???  Yes, A Trade Post On ’30-YOC’!!!!

Well, well, well, look at who has completed a trade…

It has been a long time since I was able to officially call a baseball card transaction a trade, but I believe that I am correct with the naming for this exchange of cards.

Let’s get right down to it…

After tearing though a blaster of 2012 Topps Archives, a few readers of the blog showed some interest in some of the cards I pulled.

One of those readers was Doug, of the blog ‘Baseball Cards And Life’.  He saw two cards that appealed to him.  And he has good taste!!  Check out what I sent him:

Pretty nice stuff huh?

Yeah well, Doug sent be back some pretty sweet stuff too…  Four cards as a matter of fact, and they all share a very common theme.

Have a peek:

Oh yeah, Miami Marlins.  And they look great!!

Thank you, Doug.  That was a lot of fun!  I am on my way to collecting the team set from this issue.

Anyone else want to work out a trade??  Let me know.

My 1st Baseball Card Trade In 15+ Years

My, it has been a while.  What used to be one of the most fun activities of my youth has been restored, even for this short moment.

Trade – the act or process of buying, selling, or exchanging commodities, at either wholesale or retail

So, that is exactly what I’ve done.  When Chris from Project ’62 posted a purchase of a Fergie Jekins 1970 Topps card I was jealous as this is a card missing from my Fergie collection.  When he offered it up to me I had to act, yet my resources are very limited.  Knowing that Chris is a Cub’s fan, I offered up the only non-Billy, non-Andre, non-Fergie card that I had.  Chris has since declared that he will continue to focus on Ryne Sandberg cards so this may open up the possibility of more trades to come!!
And as they say, the rest is history….
I traded this:

 To get this:

And low and behold, Chris offered up another surprise for me which can be seen below:

dawson-dkThanks Chris!!!
