The 1972 New York Mets are the only team since 1900 that did not have a single player collect at least 100 hits. The Mets played just 156 games that season because a player’s strike delayed the start of the season and resulted in every club losing some games. Tommie Agee led the team with 96 hits, followed by Cleon Jones with 92, and Bud Harrelson with 90.

My Take – What a stat!!! Even with 156 games, a player could have easily amassed 500+ at-bats that year. And nobody collected 100 hits… WoW!!!
