Did You Know…

The first player in major league history to bat in an official major league game was Lou Brock.  Brock and the Cardinals were hosted in Montreal on April 14, 1969 in the Expos franchise opening game.  Brock hit lead-off for the Cardinals in that game.

In 1967, Orlando Cepeda became the first unanimous MVP Award winner in the National League since 1936.  Cepeda captured all of the 28 1st Place votes!!

In the amazing history of the St, Louis Cardinals, Albert Pujols holds the team record for most consecutive seasons with at least 30 home runs, 100 RBI, and a .300 batting average.  He accomplished this feat for ten consecutive seasons, 2001-2010.

Did You Know…

Stan Musial collected 3,630 hits during his major league baseball career.  Amazingly, Stan ‘The Man’ was just as successful at home as he was on the road.  Musial has the same number of hits, 1,815, at home as he does on the road.
