TTM Success: Darren Daulton!!

14 days was all it took for former All-star Darren Daulton to return this wonderfully signed baseball card to me!!

From a far I had always admired Daulton’s game.  Then he joined my Florida Marlins in 1997 as they drove towards the playoffs and soon I was a HUGE Darren Daulton fan.  His World Series performance was incredible.  In 7 games ‘Dutch’ racked up some great numbers – .389, 7 hits, 7 runs, 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and a home run.  Most importantly he took home a championship ring!!

Thanks for the autograph Dutch!!!!

9 More TTM Requests In The Mail…

I’m gearing up for Spring Training.  You know, just working out all the TTM kinks since I took it easy during the offseason…

I put 9 letters in the mail on the way to work this morning.  And I am very serious about adding some bulk and quality to my autograph collection this year.  I have some lofty goals, but I feel that if I put in the effort I will be rewarded.

For this round, I sent to retired players.  A few All-stars, some World Series champions, and all players I enjoyed watching during their careers!!

The guys:  Tom Brunansky, Mike Mussina, John Tudor, Lonnie Smith, Steve Sax, Darren Daulton, Dan Plesac, Gary Gaetti, and member of the 2010 Hall of Fame class, Mr. Whitey Herzog.

Wish me luck.  I am hoping for some quick returns so I can get a head of steam behind me as we head into Spring Training!!!

1991 Upper Deck Baseball – Pack Break #5

I bring you the fifth of six packs of 1991 Upper Deck baseball cards that I ripped through this morning…

Notable – Jose Oquendo, Darren Daulton, Mike LaValliere, Gary Sheffield, Charlie Hayes, Jack Morris – Team Checklist

Pick Of The Pack – Barry Bonds – Team checklist

1989 Topps – Pack #4

Here is what I pulled from pack #4 of the 6 that I will be opening today:

pack 4a

pack 4b

Notable:  This pack had a nice selection of semi-stars and HOF’ers.  Julio Franco and Darren Daulton fall into the semi-star category.  And it’s always nice to grab any Wade Boggs card that I can.

Pick of the Pack:   The Tom Glavine card reminds us of an up-and-coming player that was on the verge of doing some amazing things with the Atlanta Braves.  Back in ’89, who would have thought Glavine would become one of the game’s best pitchers for the next 20 years…
