Amazing TTM Success: Hall of Fame Manager, Sparky Anderson!!!

In just under two weeks time, Hall of Fame baseball manager, Mr. Sparky Anderson, returned my copy of ‘The Machine’ to me.  And you know what, he instantly added a great treasure to my autograph collection.

Here’s the book:

And here is Sparky’s signature as well as his message to me:

“To Brian:  Thank you for being such a great fan of the Reds,  Sparky Anderson”

Truly a class act – I am not quite sure that it gets any better than this.  A personal note from one of the greatest baseball managers of all-time.

But, I do know one way to make this even more special…

I know that it would be virtually impossible to get the entire ‘Big Red Machine’ to sign this book for me, but I should be able to add a few more autographs.  There are 3 more blank pages at the very beginning of the book – maybe they’re there for a reason.  I am starting to believe so…

Let me see what I can do with this.  I know that guys like Bench, Griffey, Rose, and Morgan may be tough but the team had more than 4 players on its roster!!!

Thank you Mr. Anderson!!  This is very special for me, and I cannot wait to sit down and read this story about one of my favorite teams of all-time.  But first I have a few more autographs to hunt for.  🙂

Sending A Very Special TTM Request To Sparky Anderson!!

You may recall that for Christmas I received an awesome stack of baseball-related books to enjoy.  If not, you can click here to see the details.

In this stack of books was one called ‘The Machine’.  The book details the success of Cincinnati’s ‘Big Red Machine’ – a team that I am passionate about!!

So while I continue to read the books I already owned prior to getting this new and very tall stack of new books, I thought it would be fun to send this book around to see if I can add any autographs to it.

And why not start with the team’s leader – Mr. Sparky Anderson??

So off it goes.  Anderson has always had a great TTM reputation and I hope he continues that tradition and sends this back to me with his autograph.

Wish me luck!!!

Sparky Anderson Autograph TTM Success

Sparky Anderson TTM Success – 9 days!!!

George ‘Sparky’ Anderson played just 1 season in the big leagues – 1959 with the Phillies.  In that year he batted .218 while accumulating 104 hits, 9 doubles, 0 home runs, and 34 RBI.  Not very impressive stats…

But, ‘Sparky’ is one the most popular managers in baseball history.  The winner of 3 World Series titles, Anderson was extremely popular with players and fans.  With the ‘Big Red Machine’ in 1975 & 1976, Anderson won back-to-back titles.  And then, in 1984 he won his 3rd championship with the Detroit Tigers.  With a career win-loss record of 2,194-1,834, Anderson was voted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 2000.

Thanks for the great autograph ‘Sparky’!!!
