Baseball Card Show Purchase #10 – (9)1990 Fleer Ken Griffey Jr. Cards

While I am not a Griffey collector, I absolutely admire and value what he brought to the sport during his amazing career.

So you have to imagine my surprise when I found nine 1990 Fleer baseball cards of Griffey Jr. a dime bin.  And what did I do with the nine?  I scooped them up, paid my ninety cents, and brought them home!!!

Welcome to the ’30-YOC’ collection Mr. Griffey!!!!

Saying Good-Bye To “The Kid”

Saying Good-Bye To “The Kid”

Just a few short hours ago, it was announced that Ken Griffey Jr. has retired from playing major league baseball.

At the age of 40, and with 22 big league seasons under his belt, Griffey is one of the most accomplished players that the sport has ever seen.  A ‘5-tool player’ that was able to dominate the game in a vast number of ways, the man they called ‘Junior’ was a superstar in the sport through 4 straight decades.

His resume is impressive.  His smile is contagious.  His swing is legendary – Ken Griffey Junior will be impossible to replace!!!

Congratulations on a fantastic career – I am thrilled that I was able to enjoy all of it!!!
