My guess is that Lenny Dykstra wishes that times were like they were back in the early 1990’s when he starred for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Sadly, he may not know that kind of freedom ever again…

This card comes from the 2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites set, and it pays honor to Dykstra’s 1993 baseball season.

And in 1993, Dysktra was supreme – he was the league leader in several offensive categories including plate appearances (773), at-bats (637), runs scored (143), hits (194), and walks (129).

He finished in second place for the NL MVP award behind Barry Bonds.

Those were the days…

For Lenny’s birthday, I am going to give him something a player of his nature needs.  A lifetime supply of Tide laundry detergent.  There were very few games in which Dykstra’s uniforms were not completely destroyed from sliding all over the field.  Hopefully this gift will save a few of them…

Happy Birthday Nails!!!!
