This card from the 1977 Topps baseball set commemorates the great starting pitching during the 1976 baseball season.

The wins leaders for that season were Jim Palmer from the American League, and Randy Jones in the National League.  Both guys finished the season with 22 wins a piece.

For Palmer, ’76 was a great season.  Winning his third Cy Young Award in four years, Palmer went 22-13.  He started 40 games that year, completing 23 of them.  He compiled a low 2.51 ERA while striking out 159 batters while walking 88.  And he did all of this while hurling 315 innings!!
